Vibrant, Vibrating Kadaywan 2012

Kadayawan is the biggest yearly festival celebrating the bounty of the 10 tribes in Davao City, Philippines.

This year, unfortunately I was just able to cover one event: The Sayaw Mindanaw, a contest showcasing the vibrant Mindanao culture.  Among the masterpieces showcased in the school and open categories included stories of the local justice system, the indigenous peoples experience with the monkey devastating their farms, the fatal attack of "banakon" or the King cobra, the effect of the abusive utilization of our marine resources.

So here are some of the moments, emotions and dance drama I've captured.
